Molesters flee bleeding from the clutches of a karate girl in Barasat, West Bengal

The 16-year-old girl was a target of a group of boys in Barasat and, when they decided to pick on her, they made a wrong choice because she used her karate skills to send the duo bleeding and fleeing – they even threatened to return to take revenge.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 8 September 2015.
As she has explained – due to increased cases of violence and sexual assaults against girls in the locality, she had started learning karate a year ago. She wanted to be able to defend herself because the police do not usually involve in these cases because of political patronage enjoyed by the hoodlums.
The other day there was this news of a Brazilian girl who had caught a thief by using jiu-jitsu – she held in a grip for 20-minutes till the police arrived on the scene.
The message is loud and clear – apart from carrying pepper sprays and small weapons in the handbag and sporting long nails, the way to fight out of trouble is to become an expert in martial arts like karate, judo and jiu-jitsu.
