The world now belongs to the big ones – therefore, while Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon offered a besan laddoo weighing 7858-Kg to Lord Ganesh at a pandal in Mumbai, the Arasuri Ambaji Mata Dvesthana Trust has prepared a bigger one of boondi weighing 11,111-Kg for offering to Goddess Mataji.

The one at Ambaji temple is being claimed to be the world's largest 'ladoo' tipping the acales at a whopping 11,111-Kg. This 'boondi laddoo' made from mixture of chick pea flour, ghee and sugar is equal to the weight of two adult elephants and four Rolls Royce Phantom cars.
The ingredients that went into creating this giant of a laddoo are 2,600-Kg ghee, 2,650-Kg besan (chick pea flour) and 5,500-Kg sugar and, the total cost was approximately Rs 17 lakh.
As to size – it is 16 feet tall, has a radius of 14 feet and took nearly 33 hours to prepare. It would be distributed as prasad to over 3 lakh devotees who would be visiting the temple.
On the other hand, in Mumbai, in keeping with the outsize Ganesh Utsav festivities that Andheri Cha Raja, or King of Andheri, commands, the world's biggest laddoo was offered as prasad by Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon.
It was a besan laddoo and it took a team of 42 people five days to make. The weight is 8,645-Kgs and the organizers intend to break the world record. The current world record is held by a laddoo weighing 7,858 kilos and it was made by a sweetshop in Andhra Pradesh.
