Bangalore does not want people to feed pigeons in Cubbon Park

Bangalore, known as the city of gardens, boasts of the Cubbon Park which is a vast expanse of green where people come for spending some time in the arms of Nature. Some of them take to feeding pigeons which is a pastime for many, even in foreign countries.
However, the authorities of the park are worried about this practice of feeding the birds because with so many birds around and so much food being scattered, there are bound to be remnants of not just the food but also of bird droppings. And, these add to the filth that has to be cleaned up regularly.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 7 August 2015.
Therefore, officials from the horticulture department have approached Cubbon Park police to intervene in the matter and prevent pollution of the park premises, especially near the tennis stadium.
