CBSE to check cheating in AIPMT exams – examinees can wear only T-shirt and jeans

In view of rampant cheating in examinations, the CBSE has decided to introduce a dress code for the examinees – the intention is to eliminate possible and known methods of cheating in the examination halls. Due to advances in communication technologies, it is very difficult to zero in on appliances that may appear to be ordinary items but that can be effective in passing or storing information.
This has been reported in timesofindia.indiatimes.com dated 11 July 2015.
CBSE feels that the cheating racket across the country has become an organized crime. Hence, it has issued a wardrobe checklist which will become effective from the All India Pre-Medical Test AIPMT to be held on July 25.
Candidates are barred from wearing anything except half-sleeve T-shirt or kurta, trousers and flip-flops - shoes not allowed. The ban covers religious charms and ‘magic’ amulets.
The examinees would be checked for just about every accessory – these would include nose rings and ear-rings to bracelets, chains, necklaces, brooches and pendants. If found on the person, these would be removed.
Similarly, for the boys, they cannot even wear shoes, or clothing with large buttons and badges. Belts are also no-no as are scarves and caps of all kinds.
It may be noted that the reexamination is being done as directed by the Supreme Court order because there was a paper leak in the examination that was subsequently cancelled.
The Haryana special investigation team that went into the AIPMT paper leak had unearthed a massive network of racketeers that operated across different states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. There are more than 6.3 lakh candidates vying for 3,800 seats, hence, the CBSE board is not taking any chances.
